This is one of my landscapes that were exhibited at Nightsky Cafe in Troy. I have more to list...I forgot about listing them after the exhibit closed. My summer has gone so fast and I haven't painted as much as I would have liked. I have a sale coming up at the Taste of Troy in September....will let you know more about it soon! Thanks for stopping by.......

Ooops, it's a Petunia
Here is the Georgia O'Keeffe painting that I mentioned except it is a petunia instead 0f a pansy.....but anyway, what do you think Georgia was interested in conveying in this painting? I had said that it wasn't about the shadows like my painting was. So please give you opinion!!

Georgia Pansy
No, this is not a Pansy from the state of Georgia. I had the vase and bought the pansies and have been putting one pansy bloom at a time in my kitchen sink window . Then I realized I had a Georgia O'Keeffe day planner from Ann Haddad with a painting on the front of a purple pansy in a white vase. So I guess subliminally Georgia O. has influenced this painting. It was interesting to compare the two after I finished mine because they are surprising different, mainly hers is famous and better! I was very interested in the blue shadows of the flowers on the top of the vase and I guess G.O. was into something else, I'll have to look at hers again and see what I think...what do you think? I'll post G.O.'s soon so you can decide.

New paintings, not done
After getting a push from suzanneally I am posting my "not done paintings" I worked on yesterday. I have been busy the last three weeks with a small adult class and other things and also just getting too serious about painting. It was killing the best part of painting, just the joy of pushing the paint around. The solution: just paint what catches your eye and excites you. The first painting at the top I fell in love with the shadows in fact I just painted the shadow shapes as the actual flowers so they are at an interesting angle....kind of like they are ready to fall off the table. The bottom painting is the actual flowers and their shadows. Lilies are so graceful, like they are dancing with their shadows. Both paintings will change a lot probably but I will post them either in progress or when they are finished. The reason I paint on two or more at the same time is to let the paint dry enough so the painting doesn't turn into a puddle of mud color....not sure how other artists keep that from happening when they finish a painting-a-day. ???? OK, suzanneally, are you happy?

Caught up, sort of......
Welcome to my Blogspot!
I am not much of a techie so I have been putting off listing my paintings for awhile, but I finally have them sort of caught up. I will try to get the rest listed soon. My paintings currently have been of plants inside and outside of my house. I also have a group of landscapes that I did the latter part of '07 that are currently up at the Nightsky Cafe in Troy, Ohio. As soon as they come down I will be listing them also. So, I hope you will come back often. Enjoy!
